Beginning in 2001 and running through the end of my tenure in high school (at least), I regularly watched ESPN. I still watched it at times through 2015 or 16 or so, which when I last had Cable/Sling TV. ESPN has changed a bit since then, as evinced by a new Morning Brew report titled ESPN ditches its bookie for DraftKings. I have not regularly watched sports in some time, despite retaining the knowledge to write articles on whether defense really wins NBA championships, but it has occurred to me that the relentless promotion of gambling by ESPN and the major sports leagues themselves may be making sports questionable viewing material for children.

(Note this is a U.S.-centric take, my understanding is that sports gambling has been more in the open in much of Europe for some time.)
