I recently read a November 23, 2025 Morning Brew report by Adam Epsttein titled America’s oldest sport is drawing up new plays. The artticle is about a new professional lacrosse league called Premier Lacrosse League (“PLL”). To be sure, I had not previously heard of PLL, but PLL is not the focus of this things I learned (although I have covered obscure sports leagues in this series). The article includes a note about the Olympics:

The Brothers Rabil and the PLL have been instrumental in securing lacrosse’s return to the Olympics competitively for the first time in 120 years at the 2028 Games in LA.

That lacrosse was once an Olympic sport sounds vaguely familiar. But I would not have known its most recent appearance in the games, much less that it is returning in 2028. We shall see if Canada can make it three consecutive Gold Medals in lacrosse after having won in 1904 and 1908.
