My name is Nicholas Ferrell and I am the founder and administrator of The Emu Café Social (my admin account is nafaugustus). I an a writer and legal research specialist based in Brooklyn, New York City. Since 2020, I have been the editor and administrator of the perennially virid writing website, The New Leaf Journal, which is home to my long-form writing on many topics. I started this site as an experiment in using WordPress as the foundation for social publishing from a digital home.

I went through the Safari Zone in my PKMN Red play-through (https://thenewleafjournal.com/b/6KD) yesterday. Ended up enraged when a Psyduck broke out of 8-10 Safari Balls before fleeing. Unnecessarily spent time catching a Psyduck out of spite.

In other news, I took the two arms off my office chair. My computer desk is an old teacher’s desk (from a store a discussed previously: https://thenewleafjournal.com/b/_J) which does not allow for a chair with arms to tuck under the desk. We’ll see if this improves the ergonomics of my set-up.

My article on hair color in the fall 2022 anime adaptation of Raven in the Inner Palace (https://thenewleafjournal.com/b/5zS) is having a big couple of days at The New Leaf Journal. I wonder why. No second season or other news as far as I can tell. It also had a mysterious good run in January.

I’ve been at my computer too long today. But I spent some of my time not at my computer replacing a 2 GB stick of RAM in my T400 with a 4 GB (https://social.emucafe.org/t/QH). We’re up to 7.4 GB of usable RAM. Talk about a powerhouse.
